Rotor replacement

Brake Rotor Replacement for Fleet Vehicles

A rotor that is warped, scored, or below minimum thickness makes the whole brake job feel wrong. We replace rotors on-site, measure runout after installation, and road test before release.

    What's included

Rotor Replacement: what the visit covers

    Precision rotor installation

Hub faces are cleaned to bare metal before the new rotor goes on, and fasteners are torqued to spec in sequence. Most repeat vibration complaints trace back to a hub that was never cleaned.

    Surface quality inspection

Scoring, hot spots, and hard-spot glazing are assessed on both faces. Rotors below the manufacturer minimum thickness are replaced, not machined.

    Runout measurement

Lateral runout is measured with a dial indicator once the rotor is mounted. That number is what predicts whether the pulsation comes back in a month.

    Brake system calibration

Caliper slides, pins, and pistons are checked so the new rotor wears evenly. Electronic parking brake actuators are retracted and reset properly.

    Quality assurance testing

Pads are bedded to the new surface on a road test, checking for pulsation and pull. Results are logged for the unit.

    Warranty on the work

Brake work carries a warranty, with the terms stated on the quote. Coverage is per axle set, not per part.

    How it works

    How the service runs on-site

    1. 1

      Inspect and measure

Thickness, runout, and surface condition are measured on each corner and recorded.

    2. 2

      Quote per axle

Rotors are quoted as axle sets with the matching friction, so braking stays balanced.

    3. 3

      Replace on-site

Hub faces are cleaned, rotors fitted, hardware torqued, and runout verified.

    4. 4

      Bed in and road test

Pads are bedded on a road test and the unit is checked for pulsation before release.

    Coverage

    Vehicle classes we cover

Heavy-duty and diesel units are serviced on-site at your location; a unit goes to our Wilmington shop only when the repair itself requires a lift or shop equipment.

    • Cargo and sprinter vans
    • Pickups and service trucks
    • Step vans and box trucks
    • Medium-duty Class 4–6
    • Heavy-duty disc brake units
    • Diesel tractors with disc brakes

    FAQ

    Rotor Replacement: common questions

    • If the rotor cannot be cut and still stay above the manufacturer minimum thickness, it gets replaced. On fleet vehicles replacement usually costs less over the life of the unit than a second brake visit.
