    DOT & Annual Inspections: what the visit covers

    49 CFR 396 annual inspections

    The full federal annual inspection is performed to the Appendix A criteria by a federally certified inspector. The sticker is issued on the spot when the unit passes.

    Pre-trip and post-trip inspections

    We can audit your driver inspection process and train against the same checklist. Consistent driver reports are what keep defects from reaching the annual.

    Brake performance verification

    Lining thickness, drum and rotor condition, and push-rod stroke are measured against the out-of-service limits. Brakes are the most cited category in roadside enforcement.

    Lighting, tires, and load securement check

    Required lamps, reflectors, tread depth, sidewall condition, and securement hardware are all inspected. Defects are quoted and, where possible, repaired at the same visit.

    Inspection sticker issuance

    Passing units are stickered and dated immediately. No second trip and no waiting on an outside shop.

    Digital records for DOT audits

    Inspection reports are filed per VIN and available online. That is the file an auditor or new-entrant safety audit asks for.
